Ola Electric is all set to launch its first ever scooter in the Indian market. Ola Electric Scooter bookings have commenced at a refundable token amount of Rs 499 at the company website. The deliveries will start on a first-come-first-serve basis in the country. Ola Electric Scooter will be locally developed at the company's Futurefactory in Tamil Nadu. Its first phase is nearing completion and when fully built next year, at 10 million a year capacity, it will be the world’s largest two-wheeler factory.

“India’s EV revolution begins today as we open reservations for our electric scooter, the first in our range of upcoming EVs. With its incredible performance, technology and design along with aggressive pricing, it will help accelerate the transition to sustainable mobility. India has the opportunity and potential to become the world leader in EVs and at Ola, we are proud to lead this charge,” said Bhavish Aggarwal, Chairman & Group CEO, Ola. The company will reveal the features and price in the coming days. It is being learnt that Ola will price the electric scooter aggressively to make it widely accessible. The range is also expected to be around 100 kilometres on a single charge.

The Ola Scooter has already won several prestigious awards including the IHS Markit Innovation award at CES and the German Design Award. The Ola vehicle engineering team has been testing the Ola Scooter extensively for the last few months, where the Scooter has returned best-in-class range, speed and performance. Recently, the Ola Hypercharger Network was unveiled which will be the largest and densest network, spread over 400 cities with more than 100,000 charging points in India. In the first year alone, Ola is setting up over 5,000 charging points across 100 cities in India, more than double the existing charging infrastructure in the country. In addition, a home-charger will also come bundled with the Ola Scooter.
