Ola Electric is on a massive hiring spree. Having said that, the former head of design at Mahindra & Mahindra - Ramkripa Ananthan is all set to join the company. At Ola Electric, she will be involved with a new electric car project.
Furthermore, the company claims that its first electric car will roll out during 2023-2024. Ola Electric is working quite hard to make its place in the Indian market. The brand is all set to compete with the big lead in the EV space - Tata Motors. Talking about Ananthan, she quit Mahindra & Mahindra last year after a decade-long stint. Ramkirpa Ananthan was majorly involved with design work on the XUV series that further comprises the 300, 500, and the recently launched 700. Besides this, Ananthan has also worked on Scorpio, Bolero, TUV300, and KUV100.
Ola Electric is working on getting senior executives from across the globe for its electric car project. Having said that, John O’Connor is the Vice-President of Car Projects at Ola Electric. He will be based in Coventry, UK. Earlier, John was the Vice-President of Tata Motors. Besides these, Ola has also hired Wayne Burgess who was earlier working with Jaguar Land Rover, Yong S Kim who worked with Kia Motors, India, and Jaime Ardila who was formerly with General Motors.
Lately, the electric scooter project of Ola has been in the news for the mass exodus of senior executives. Thus, the brand is being very careful with its first electric car where the stake will be very high. Also, if this project is successful, it will help Ola to make the transition from a ride-hailing app to a more aspirational ownership brand.
