Toyota India has commenced the bookings for the Urban Cruiser at a token amount of Rs 11,000 in the country. The bookings can be made both online and at all the authorized Toyota dealerships. Being based on Maruti Vitara Brezza, Toyota Urban Cruiser will be launched next month, i.e. September 2020 in the Indian market. The company has also revealed several exterior and interior features of the SUV along with the engine and transmission options. It will take on Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Ford Ecosport and Kia Sonet in India.
Speaking of the exterior, Toyota Urban Cruiser will flaunt a dual-slat wedge cut dynamic front grille with chrome accents and trapezoidal LED fog lamps. In addition, it will also get dual chamber LED projector headlamps with dual function LED DRL-cum–indicators. Riding on 16-inch diamond cut alloy wheels, Toyota Urban Cruiser will come with vibrant colours in dual-tone, including a unique brown colour. The cabin will be finished in a dual tone dark brown upholstery while equipped with a plethora of premium features such as Smart Entry with Engine Push Start/Stop Button, Auto AC, Rain Sensing Wipers, Cruise Control and Electrochromic Inside Rear View Mirror (IRVM) and Smart Playcast touchscreen audio with Android Auto, Apple Carplay and Smartphone-based Navigation.
Under the bonnet, Toyota Urban Cruiser will have the BS6 compliant 1.5L 4-cylinder K-Series petrol engine. The engine will be offered with both manual and automatic transmission options. All the automatic variants will come with an advanced Li-Ion battery with an ISG- Integrated Starter Generator (Torque assist, regenerative braking & idle start stop). The SUV will also come with a warranty of 3year/100K Kms & extended benefits like express service of EM60, warranty extension and other convenience services like WhatsApp communication. Sharing his thoughts on the opening of bookings, Mr. Naveen Soni, Senior Vice President, Sales and Services, TKM, said, “We are very excited about our latest offering- the Urban Cruiser, as it has already started receiving a lot of attention & enquiries from interested customers."
