Nissan Magnite scores an impressive 4-star safety rating in the ASEAN NCAP crash tests

Nissan India launched the Magnite SUV in December last year in the country. Recently the subcompact SUV had undergone the latest rounds of crash testing by ASEAN NCAP. It was awarded a four-star crash test rating. The ASEAN NCAP is yet to reveal more detail of the safety tests along with the score breakdown for both adult and child occupant protection. This 4-star rating is likely to boost the demand for the Nissan Magnite in the Indian market as safety is the top priority for all the car buyers. The ASEAN NCAP crash test is quite similar to the Global NCAP. Both the safety regulators conducted the crash test on the base variants of the Magnite. 




As per the press statement released by ASEAN NCAP, “The New Car Assessment Program for Southeast Asian Countries (ASEAN NCAP) had recently performed an assessment on the model Nissan Magnite, the second assessed model under the Nissan brand in the year 2020. Based on the overall score, ASEAN NCAP is pleased to announce that the new Nissan Magnite has successfully obtained a 4-Star ASEAN NCAP rating in the assessment. Details of the results will be released soon."




Nissan Magnite sub compact suv was launched in the price range of Rs 4.99 - Rs 9.45 lakhs (ex-showroom). With this new year, there has been a slight increase in the price of the subcompact SUV. It is offered in a total of five trims - XE, XL, XV, XV Premium, XV Premium (O). Nissan has further equipped the sub-compact SUV with a plethora of features. The safety kit comprises of dual front airbags, front seatbelts with pretensioner and load limiters, ABS, EBD, rear parking sensors, and a front seatbelt reminder system as standard. The higher-trims and turbocharged iteration of the Magnite also get ISOFIX child seat mounts, ESC, traction control, hill start assist, brake assist, 360-degree parking camera, and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
