Nissan India has released a new video on its social media channels which shows new details of the upcoming Magnite SUV. The company has been releasing teaser images of the all-new sub-compact SUV in the past as well. Nissan Magnite was originally scheduled to launch in the month of August this year, just ahead of the festive season but it seems unlikely now due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Various reports in the media have indicated that Nissan Magnite price might start at Rs 5.25 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom) while the CVT automatic variant could also be under Rs 6 Lakhs.

In the video, it is quite visible that the Magnite SUV will flaunt a hexagonal front grille which we have already seen with the recently launched Datsun models such as GO and GO+. For starters, the Magnite was originally developed as an affordable Datsun SUV but later the company changed its plans and now it will be sold under the Nissan brand. There will be huge air intakes on either sides of the front grille which will have gigantic L-shaped LED daytime running lights (DRLs). The Japanese automaker might also offer LED headlamps in the SUV. The side profile comes with black body cladding and thick wheel arches while finished in a dual-tone paint scheme, as evident in the video.

Nissan Magnite interior cabin is not shown in the video but we expect it to be fully loaded with features such as 360-degree parking camera, connected car tech and automatic climate control. Under the hood, the Nissan Magnite SUV will have a BS6 compliant 1.0L petrol engine as standard while there will be no diesel engine on offer. The entry-level and mid variants will maximum power output of 72bhp while the top-end variants will have peak power of 95bhp due to the inclusion of a turbocharger. All the variants will get a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard. The lower and mid variants will get an optional AMT unit while the range-topping variants will be available with a CVT unit.
