2020 Hyundai Creta vs Jeep Compass: Engine Specifications


The 2020 New-Gen Hyundai Creta is offered with three BS6 compliant engine options, borrowed from the Kia Seltos. The petrol variants are powered by a naturally aspirated 1.5 litre MPi engine which delivers 115 bhp power and 144 Nm torque. It is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission as standard, while a CVT gearbox is offered as optional. The diesel variants source power from a 1.5 litre turbocharged U2 CRDi engine which belts out 115 bhp power and 250 Nm peak torque. It can be availed with a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. There is also the high-performance 1.4 litre Kappa T-GDi engine that churns out 140 bhp of power output  with 242 Nm torque and comes mated to a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox. 


While the Jeep Compass is powered by a BS6 compliant 2.0-litre Multijet II diesel engine that churns out 173 bhp power and 350 Nm torque mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.

The All-New Creta SUV adorns Hyundai's next-generation 'Sensuous Sportiness' design language. On the exterior front, it features trio beam LED headlamps along with crescent glow LED DRLs, giving it a futuristic look. The signature cascading grille imparts a more premium and bold look to the SUV. Other highlighted features include new fog lamps and bumper design. Riding on newly-designed dual-tone 17-inch alloy wheels, the rear end boasts of restyled LED tail-lamp cluster.


In the case of the Jeep Compass, it features dazzling headlamps along with distinctive LED DRLs. The headlamps combine perfectly with the signature seven-slot grille, offering a look that effortlessly stands out. The SUV gets the 17-inch alloy wheels.

2020 Hyundai Creta offers a plethora of interior features. The cabin is finished in a plush dual-tone black and greige leatherette upholstery. It features D-cut steering wheel, blue ambient lighting, 2 step rear seat reclining, in-built air purifier, 17.78cm digital instrument cluster, and a 26.03cm HD infotainment system with BlueLink, Apple CarPlay & Android Auto. The BlueLink tech offers 50+ connectivity features while coming with a 3 years complimentary subscription (available on top-end only) and a warranty package that can be extended for up to five years of coverage. 


The ski-grey interiors of the Jeep Compass give it a premium appeal. Other highlighted features include an 8.4-inch UConnect touchscreen infotainment system integrated with Apple Car Play and Android Auto, customizable 8.89 cm graphic information cluster, six speakers, dual-pane panoramic sunroof, and leather-wrapped steering wheel. Eliminate headlight glare in the rear view mirror with the Electrochromic Auto-Dimming interior rear view mirror. The SUV is also equipped with an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat along with a 4-way power lumbar system, setting a new benchmark in comfort.

The All-New Generation Hyundai Creta boasts of a strong body structure with AHSS thus ensuring a secure drive for you and your family. It also offers VSM (Vehicle Stability Management), ESC (Electronic Stability Control), Hill Assist Control, rear parking camera, rear disc brakes, burglar alarm, emergency stop signal, and seat belt pre-tensioner with load limiter.
