Next-Gen Hyundai i20 booking number crosses the 25,000 mark since its launch

Booking numbers for the Next-Gen Hyundai i20 has crossed the 25,000 mark since its launch. A few days ago, Hyundai India had updated us that the i20 premium hatchback had garnered 20,000 bookings in just 20 days. Furthermore, the automaker has delivered 4000 units of the premium hatchback during this Diwali. The company had launched the i20 hatchback in the country on November 5 at a price tag of Rs 6.79 lakh (ex-showroom). It is offered in a total of four trims namely Magna, Sportz, Asta, and Asta(O). 

The car is based on the brand’s ‘Sensuous Sportiness’ global design philosophy. Upfront, it features Hyundai's signature cascading glossy black finished grille. In addition, the hatchback also gets LED projector headlamps with LED DRLs. The rear end boasts of Z-shaped LED tail-lamp clusters. Other design bits include projector foglamps and a new set of 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. 

Talking about the cabin, the premium hatchback comes loaded with a plethora of features. These include a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system integrated with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Bluelink connectivity. Further, the equipment list comprises of a digital instrument cluster, wireless charging, ambient lighting, oxy boost air-purifier, electric sunroof among others. 




Under the bonnet, it is offered with three engine options. First is a 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol unit that delivers 82 bhp power with 5-speed manual gearbox and 87 bhp power with an IVT transmission. The more powerful 1.0-litre T-GDi petrol engine churns out 118 bhp power. It is further offered with a 7-speed DCT gearbox along with an iMT transmission as an option. There is also a 1.5-litre U2 diesel engine on sale that generates 98 bhp power while being mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. 

Apart from these, the Next-Gen Hyundai i20 is offered in six monotones and two dual-tone colour schemes. The dual-tone colour options include Polar White with Black Roof and Fiery Red with Black Roof. While the six monotone colour schemes cater to Polar White, Typhoon Silver, Titan Grey, Fiery Red, Starry Night, and Metallic Copper.
