The car will be plusher and is set to borrow cues from its older brother, the City.

Honda officials involved with the second-gen Amaze’s development have stated that the company is aiming at an altogether more upmarket look and feel for the baby Honda. There will be a new design for the dash as well as a more upmarket cabin.

Honda is also looking at making the already spacious Amaze, even more spacious. The car will be built on the same platform as the current car, but will borrow many styling cues from the larger City sedan. The same 1.2 i-VTEC petrol and 1.5 i-DTEC engines as the current model are expected to be carried forward to the new car, albeit tweaked for refinement. An automatic version is also expected to be on the cards.

The Amaze will go on sale in India in 2018 and is part of Honda’s model onslaught that will see it bring six new models here over the next three years.
