Triumph Motorcycles India is all set to launch the new Tiger 1200 in the country. Ahead of the official launch, the company has released a teaser video online. Furthermore, the pre-bookings of the motorcycle has already been commenced last year in December.
In the global market, the Triumph Tiger 1200 is offered in a total of two variants namely Rally and GT. We can expect both variants to land on our shore. The GT range is designed for long-distance cruising. While the Rally models are best suited for off-road use.
The 2022 model gets a single LED headlight with integrated DRL instead of a twin headlamp setup. Furthermore, the bike gets a prominent beak along with a large windscreen. The GT range features a 19-inch front and 18-inch rear alloy wheels. The Rally range, on the other hand, comes equipped with a 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels with a cross-spoke design. Besides this, the GT range gets a shorter suspension travel than the Rally trim.
Performance-wise, the new Tiger 1200 will come equipped with 1160cc, an inline-3 cylinder that churns out 147 bhp power at 9000rpm and 130 Nm peak torque at 7000rpm. Furthermore, the bike will come with a shaft drive just like BMW.
Once launched in the Indian market, the new Triumph Tiger 1200 will rival the likes of BMW R 1250GS and Ducati Multistrada V4. Talking about the price, we can expect the 2022 model to cost from Rs 20 lakhs (ex-showroom) onwards.
