Tata Nexon's Facelift Model Spied Testing on Indian Roads Yet Again

Tata Motors is working on bringing out an update for their Nexon SUV. This will be a mid-life upgrade for the Nexon. The Indian maker is already testing the updated model of the Nexon on Indian streets and plans to at least present the same at the Auto Expo next year. The facelifted version of the sub-4 metre compact SUV from brand has already been spied before, and now the latest spyshots of the upcoming facelift model of Nexon are out yet again.

When it was first launched in the market, the Nexon caused a division of opinion among fans over the design of the SUV. However, from the latest spy pics it appears that the maker is making changes to the design of the SUV. Although, these changes will not be that big as this is only a facelift model, the front and rear of the SUV will sure see some revisions. Unlike the large and curvy headlights on the current model, the facelifted model will feature sleeker and more stylish headlamps with built-in LED DRLs. There are chances that the updated model of Nexon will come with looks inspired from the Harrier SUV. The Harrier itself is based on the IMPACT 2.0 design philosophy of the maker.

Tata will surely keep both the petrol and diesel options with the Nexon with the update as the maker has already made it clear that the move to stop diesel cars will be applicable for only smaller cars. Along with the two fuel options, the company will also keep the manual and automatic options with the current version of Nexon intact in the upcoming version. There are also reports that the company is working on bringing out a high-performance version of the Nexon SUV in the market. Something similar to what was seen on the Tiago and Tigor models. The high-performance version of Nexon will also come with the JTP badging.

The upcoming updated version of Nexon will also come with feature upgrades to give the rivals a tough fight in the segment. The company also plans to electrify the Nexon SUV in the Indian market but there is no confirmation about the launch timeline of that version as of now. Lastly the safety features of the Nexon will likely not get an update as the car has already achieved a very high score of Global NCAP safety test. The engines of the upcoming facelift model of Nexon will also be updated to comply with the BS-VI emission norms that will be in force once the vehicle launches in the market. Tata is also working on the electric version of the Nexon that is planned to be launched next year. The Tata Nexon Electric will be the first electric SUV by the manufacturer and will chiefly take on the Mahindra XUV300 electric when launched.
