The new MINI Countryman comes with subtle cosmetic updates and a revised equipment list.

MINI has launched the new Countryman in the Indian market at a starting price of Rs 39.50 Lakhs (ex-showroom). The price goes as high as Rs 43.40 lakhs (ex-showroom) for the top-end variant. The new Countryman will be offered in two petrol trims - Cooper S and Cooper S JCW Inspired. It is being locally assembled at BMW’s plant in Chennai. As for the bookings and test drives, they are open now at all MINI’s authorized dealerships and at the MINI online shop.


The five-seater SAV comes with several cosmetic updates and a revised equipment list in comparison to the previous version on sale in India. The front fascia flaunts a revised nose with a new radiator grille and LED headlamps. In addition, it also gets a new front bumper and a contrasting roof. On the sides, the new MINI Countryman gets 17-inch Imprint spoke wheels in the Cooper S variant and 18-inch John Cooper Works Thrill spoke wheels in the Cooper S JCW Inspired variant with Runflat tyres. The rear end boasts of LED tail-lights in Union Jack design and a new bumper. The Cooper S JCW Inspired trim also gets an additional aerodynamic kit as standard. Besides these, the new MINI Countryman will be offered in six color options - Sage Green, White Silver, Midnight Black, Chilli Red, Island Blue, and British Racing Green.

Moving inside the cabin of the new Countryman, it comes with Carbon Black Leatherette upholstery while the JCW inspired trim comes with an option of Brown or Grey Leatherette upholstery. Talking about the standard Cooper S variant, it gets features like an infotainment system with a 6.5-inch display & Bluetooth connectivity, panoramic sunroof, a rearview camera, dual-zone climate control, powered front seats with memory function for the driver, and a powered tailgate. The JCW Inspired variant comes with an additional kit that comprises an 8.8-inch touchscreen with built-in navigation and Apple Carplay, a Harman Kardon audio system, a 5.5-inch digital instrument cluster, a wireless phone charger, adjustable rear seats, a head-up display, paddle shifters, and keyless entry. 

Performance-wise, the new MINI Countryman is powered by a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine that churns out 189 bhp power and 280 Nm peak torque. The engine is mated to a 7-speed Double Clutch Steptronic Transmission in Cooper S and 7-Speed Double Clutch Steptronic Sports Transmission in Cooper S JCW Inspired trim.

Besides these, MINI is also offering an Absolute Value pack with the new Countryman that is valid till the end of June 2021. Under this pack, the customers can own the new MINI Countryman for a period of 3 or 4 years for a fixed EMI. They can further avail a secure and comprehensive ownership package that includes Service Inclusive Plus, Assured Buy-back Value with MINI 360°, Repair Inclusive, MINI Secure, Loyalty / Trade-in offer, and a 20 percent discount on MINI Accessories & Lifestyle.
