August is destined to be one eventful month for the auto industry in India as makers ranging from Hyundai to BMW gear up to launch their models in the market. Although, the car industry in the country is going through an extended period of sales slowdown, the makers are displaying confidence in the market by lining up launches one after the other for the Indian market. The same slowdown has also forced the makers to offer good discounts on their models in the market. Therefore, whether it is a new car or an existing model, the customer is set to gain here. Hyundai Grand i10
Launch on: 20th August
Hyundai Grand i10 has been getting long in the tooth for quite sometime now, and the South Korean maker has been working on the model update of the hatchback since a long time. The new Grand i10 will be based on the Venue’s platform. The exterior design changes on the Grand i10 are likely to include new cascading grille, projector fog lamps, swept-back headlamps, bigger window area, roof rails and stylish new alloy wheels among others. The interiors of the new Grand i10 will also get significant updates. As far as the mechanicals are concerned, there are rumours that the brand may add a new petrol engine and a DCT gearbox option on the new model of the car while still maintaining the current offerings in engine and gearbox department.

Renault Triber MPV was presented in front of the public recently and the French automaker will soon launch the vehicle in the Indian market. The Triber MPV comes with the capability to seat 7 people. The design of the car is also very sober and the crossover inspired design of the Triber makes it a very unique looking car in the market. The interiors come with an all-digital instrument cluster, central air conditioning system, 8 inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support and more. the Triber will come with a 1.0-litre petrol engine. The output for the petrol engine could be in the range of 71 Bhp and 96 Nm. The AMT version of this upcoming MPV has also been spotted testing, therefore an AMT is sure to be offered with the car along with a manual gearbox.
Maruti Suzuki XL6
Launch on: 21st August
Maruti Suzuki will bring out a new premium 6-seater version of Ertiga MPV in the Indian market. The launch of the new version of MPV is expected to take place on 21 August. The new version of the bestselling MPV from the brand will be targeted at a more premium consumer base and will take up the upmarket quotient a bit higher. The new XL6 will be sold via NEXA dealerships. The middle row of the new MPV will come with two captain seats and other tweaks that will make it look more premium. The new version of Ertiga is only expected to come with aesthetic and feature changes and the maker is not expected to make any changes in the engine department of the MPV.
Launch on: 22nd August
Kia has already presented the all-new Seltos SUV in the country and it will be launched in the Indian on 22 August 2019. The bookings of the SUV has already created a record in the Indian market. The prices of the Seltos will also be announced when the car is launched in the Indian market. The launch of the Kia Seltos will mark the first product that the South Korean company will launch in the Indian market. Upon launch, the Kia Seltos will lock horns with Hyundai Creta, Tata Harrier, MG Hector and the Jeep Compass in India. Not just the looks but the Kia Seltos also comes with a bevy of unique features to boast of. The company will also offer the SUV with 3 engine and 4 transmission options in the market.
Launch on: 21st August
Amid all the affordable offerings, the one luxury launch slated for August is the entry level sedan from the German maker BMW. The new 3-Series of the brand will be launched in India on 21 August and it comes with several changes as compared to the current model. The brand has used the Cluster Architecture (CLAR) platform on the new model of 3-Series, a platform that is also found on the 5-Series and 7-Series. There will be no mechanical changes on the model but the presence of the new platform will mean that it will be lighter and hence the performance as well as fuel efficiency will receive a bump, and the car will also be larger than before.
