Honda 2-Wheelers India is all set to launch an all-new motorcycle on September 30, 2020 in the country. The company has sent out media invites stating the same without divulging the details of the product. However, it is believed that the new Honda motorcycle will be in the range of 300-500cc as the invitation states that it will be retailed via the Big Wing chain of premium dealerships. For those asking, Honda Big Wing dealerships take care of sales and service of the company's premium 300cc and above products.
Honda recently updated its entire lineup of 500cc motorcycles in the global markets which includes the likes of CB500X, CBR500R, and CB500F. So, it could be that the company is planning to launch one of the aforementioned bikes in the Indian market. The Japanese automaker has also been working on a 300-500cc motorcycle to rival the Royal Enfield bikes which suggests that the new motorcycle launching on September 30 might well be a cruiser. And, if we talk about cruisers in Honda's portfolio in the 300cc segment, then the possibility of Rebel 300 hitting the Indian roads cannot be denied as well. The official invite from Honda reads, "Get Ready for a Majestic Launch; Your Highness is Arriving".
The speculation is rife that the new Honda 300cc motorcycle is specifically designed for the Indian market. Though, it is not yet known whether it will sit on an all-new chassis or it will use a similar architecture to that of Rebel 300 which is sold abroad. The use of an existing platform looks much more promising as Honda recently did the same with its latest launch, the Hornet 2.0 in India. Honda Hornet 2.0 is based on the global version of CB190R, albeit after undergoing a whole lot of homologation. Upon launch, the new motorcycle will be the least expensive product to be sold via Honda's Big Wing dealerships. The company is already looking to expand the Big Wing chain to 75 cities in India.
