2021 Kia Carnival

Kia Motors has finally unveiled the new-gen Carnival after teasing it for several weeks on various social media channels. The MPV has grown in size with an increase in wheelbase as well. The all-new Kia Carnival will be launched in the Indian market only by mid 2022 as the current model was launched recently at the 2020 Auto Expo in February. Though, it has been on sale in several global markets since 2014 and hence, it will be replaced by the new-gen model with South Korea being the first country to get it.

Kia Carnival

The 2021 Kia Carnival gets styling inspiration from the company's new range of SUVs with angular lines and a squared stance. The front fascia is dominated by Kia's traditional 'Tiger Nose' grille in a diamond layout with chrome treatment. The headlamps are accompanied by the LED daytime running lights and turn indicators. The air intake also gets the chrome treatment while a faux skid plate provides it a SUVish character. The bonnet is a bit longer than before due to the A-pillar being shifted backwards. The MPV rides on 19-inch dual tone alloy wheels while a character line runs from the front to all the way back, connecting the headlamps and tail-lamp cluster. The C-pillar features a chrome fin while the A,B, and D-pillars are finished in black - called 'Island Roof' by Kia.

The Carnival interior cabin is equipped with massive screens, one is for the digital instrument cluster and the other is the touchscreen infotainment system. The dual-sunroof has been retained from the previous model while multiple seating configurations are available including a 11-seater version for the taxi owners and a 4-seater version with ventilated captain seats for luxury lovers. The engine and gearbox options for the all-new Carnival haven't been revealed now but we believe it to carry the same 2.2L diesel engine. The petrol variants will draw power from Kia Sorento's 2.5L turbocharged engine which delivers 280bhp. It is expected to come with a hybrid variant as well which will consist of a 1.6L petrol engine and electric motor.
