New-Gen Hyundai i20 was launched in India on November 5, 2020. It has received 20,000 booking so far.

Hyundai Motor India Ltd. (HMIL) has just announced that it has received 20,000 bookings so far for the New-Gen i20. The New-Gen Hyundai i20 was launched in India on November 5, 2020, according to the manufacturer these numbers have come in just 20 days. Further, the auto giant also said that it has delivered 4,000 units of the premium hatchback during this Diwali season. 2020 Hyundai i20 retails at an introductory price of Rs 6.79 lakhs (ex-showroom, India). It is offered in four variants namely Magna, Sportz, Asta and Asta (O). The New i20 comes with design, styling, features and engine updates. As per the company, 85 percent of the booking requests are for Sportz and top-end trims. 


“The i20 has been a trendsetter in its segment and icon among the new-age customers. Now with the launch of the all-new i20, we are upping the ante and setting a new benchmark. We have received an overwhelming response to the all-new i20 with 20 000 Bookings in 20 days and more than 4 000 customers have taken delivery of this latest blockbuster product from us during Diwali season. As the foremost premium hatchback in India, more than 85 % Customers have opted for Sportz and above trims, showcasing a strong demand for Advanced Technologies offered on the all-new i20”, commented Tarun Garg, Director (Sales, Marketing & Service), Hyundai Motor India Ltd on this announcement. 


As per the statement, 45 percent of Indian buyers have books variants which come with BlueLink Technology. Plus, around 30 percent of the bookings were received for the trims that offered a sunroof. Another 30 percent of the overall booking numbers have come from the models that provide the Oxyboost Air purifier. Further 25 percent of these bookings have been got for variants that feature IVT/iMT/DCT transmission options. 


The New-Gen i20 comes with six monotone and two dual-tone colour options. The single tone colour scheme comprises of Polar White, Typhoon Silver, Titan Grey, Fiery Red, Starry Night and Metallic Copper. While the Dual-tone colour options consist of Polar White with Black Roof and Fiery Red with Black Roof. Buyers can choose from 3 engine options namely a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated Kappa petrol engine, a 1.0-litre turbocharged GDi petrol unit and a 1.5-litre U2 CRDi diesel powertrain.
