The premium hatchback is in good demand with over 30,000 bookings done so far in the last 40 days

Hyundai Motor India today announced that the New-Gen i20 bookings have crossed the 30,000 mark in the country just 40 days since its launch. The South Korean automaker has sold around 20,000 units with 10,000 customers already receiving the hatchback. The All-New Hyundai i20 was launched on 5th November 2020, at a special introductory price of Rs 6.8 lakh (ex-showroom), India. Prices of the recently introduced hatchback could increase in the starting of the new year considering that rivals like Maruti and Kia have already announced it for their existing product portfolio. Competition wise, the i20 goes up against Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Tata Altroz, Honda Jazz, Volkswagen Polo and Toyota Glanza in the domestic market. As per the manufacturer, almost 10 percent of customers have shown a preference for the dual-tone colour option. Thus Fiery Red and Starry Night colour options have emerged as favourite choices for the Indian buyer.

New Hyundai i20 retails in four variants namely Magna, Sportz, Asta and Asta (O). The premium hatchback is based on Hyundai's ‘Sensuous Sportiness’ global design philosophy. Its notable design highlights include cascading grille in a glossy black finish, LED projector headlamps with LED DRLs, projector fog lamps, new diamond-cut alloy wheels and Z-shaped LED tail lamp clusters. Moving on-to interior, the cabin boasts of features like digital instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with support for Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and BlueLink connectivity. The car also comes equipped with Oxyboost Air Purifier with Air Quality Indicator, a useful feature in the current COVID-19 pandemic.




There are three powertrain options available with the vehicle. These include a 1.5-litre U2 CRDi diesel engine with a 6-speed manual gearbox, a 1.2-litre Kappa Petrol BS6 offering 5-speed manual & IVT automatic transmissions alongside a 1.0-litre T-GDi Petrol BS6 that caters to an iMT & 7-speed DCT gearboxes.  Besides these, Hyundai is also providing warranty options of 3 years/ 1,00,000 kms, 4 Years/ 50,000 kms and 5 Years/ 40,000 kms. Further, buyers can also look forward to 3 years BlueLink Subscription + 3 Years Roadside Assistance.
