In 2015, Jawa Motorcycles was taken over by Mr Anand Mahindra and Classic Legends Pvt. Limited was formed. This Indian company is trying to bring back the glory years of Jawa Motorcycles. Classic Legends showcased the production-ready engine which will be used in the future Jawa Motorcycles.
The powerplant is a 293cc liquid-cooled single cylinder engine that produces 27 BHP of power and 28 Nm of torque. The engine has been developed at the Technical Center in Varese, Italy. The new engine is fuel injected and is BS-VI ready.
The new engine has two exhaust outlets and due to this very reason, the engine resembles extremely like the previous generation engines from the outside. The engine is tuned to produce more torque rather than power and the engine has generous mid-range. Sound engineers in Italy are trying to work hard on getting the iconic exhaust note of Jawa bikes. The new range of Jawa bikes will be launched in India powered by the newly developed engine.
