MG Motors will make their debut in India with an SUV.

The Chinese carmaker, MG Motors is ready to enter the Indian market with an SUV. The SUV was recently spied testing on Gujarat roads. The test mule was a five-seater model and it has been spied previously with Tucson registered in the name of MG Motors. This means they are pitting the new MG SUV against the Hyundai Tucson.

The car will get leather seats, a touchscreen infotainment system, steering mounted controls, electronically adjustable seats, electronic parking brake and cruise control. The car will be initially launched in a five-seater variant but a seven or eight-seater variant will make its way in the future.

The SUV will be offered with two engine options – a 1.5-litre petrol engine or a 2.0-litre diesel unit. The power figures of the engines are still under covers. When launched, the MG SUV will take on the likes of Hyundai Tucson and Jeep Compass.
