MG Hector has recorded 50,000 bookings with 20,000 units being sold since its inception back in June 2019.

MG Motor India has revealed that it has received over 50,000 bookings for its first model, the Hector. MG Hector-the first internet SUV, launched in June 2019 has sold nearly 20,000 units since then in India. Available in four trims namely Style, Super, Smart and Sharp, the SUV managed to garner over 28,000 bookings within six weeks of its launch. Competing against the likes of Tata Harrier, Mahindra XUV500, Jeep Compass, and Hyundai Tuscon, MG Hector is available in the price range of Rs 12.48 lakhs to Rs 17.28 lakhs (ex-showroom) India.


“The HECTOR continues its’ strong momentum in the Indian market, crossing the 50,000-mark in terms of bookings received in just 8 months since its launch. We continue to accelerate this momentum by opening new brand outlets closer to our prospective customers in tier-I and tier-II cities. With plans to launch the MG HECTOR PLUS 6-seater family version in Q3 2020, we aim to further strengthen the HECTOR brand in India,” commented Gaurav Gupta, Chief Commercial Officer – MG Motor India.


All set to ride on dual-tone alloy wheels, the Hector flaunts projector lamps and LED DRLs on the exterior front. The segment gainer in the C-SUV segment comes with 19-exclusive and more than 50-connected features. These include the 10.4-inch infotainment system integrated with Apple car play and Android Auto, automatic climate control, colored MID, cruise control along with full LED lighting to mention a few. Its cabin comes with a premium interior and faux leather upholstery depending upon the variant selected. 


The MG Hector SUV is powered by a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine that delivers 143 bhp power output and 250 Nm of peak torque. The engine is available with a 6-speed manual gearbox alongside a 6-speed DCT as an option. There is also a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine on offer that produces 170 bhp maximum power output with 350 Nm of torque. This particular engine comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The petrol variant also gets a 48 V mild hybrid system as an option.
