MG Hector To Surprise Market on Price Front

Chinese-owned British brand MG is all set to launch their latest SUV Hector in the Indian market today. Unveiled a few weeks ago, MG Hector will sit in the compact SUV segment and will lock horns with the likes of Tata Harrier, Mahindra XUV500, Jeep Compass, and the upcoming Kia Seltos. With the launch of the SUV scheduled to take place today, the prices are also expected to be out soon and if the rumour mill is to be believed, the company has a surprise in store for the eager fans today. There are rumours that the Chinese-owned British brand will set the price for the Hector somewhere in the vicinity of Tata Harrier. The test drives for the SUV have already been concluded and it has also started reaching MG dealerships across the country and bookings of the same are underway.

MG Hector has a very imposing look in the streets and a massive street presence. The major reason behind this is the size of the SUV. Upon launch the Hector will take the crown of the largest SUV in the segment. However, the street presence that the SUV commands can also be attributed to its design as it has the same futuristic design that has kind of become a trend in the car industry lately.

It was expected that the upcoming Chinese-owned British brand will stuff the Hector SUV with features to the brim and the company has also delivered on the same. The car is feature loaded to such a great extent that the company is banking on features to be the USP of the SUV among other factors. The package includes many segment firsts and segment leading points. Perhaps the major attraction is the iSmart system that offers cloud based connectivity in the Hector.

MG Hector will come with an inbuilt Airtel eSIM with the upcoming SUV ready to adopt the 5G technology. This extremely advanced feature will equip the MG Hector to get updated via the eSim, just like the technology used in the smartphones. iSmart technology will be a standard feature of all the upcoming MG cars in the future. The upcoming MG Hector will also be equipped with a 10.8-inch portrait-oriented infotainment system featuring a few pre-installed apps and a 7 inch driver LCD display .

As far as the engine options of the MG Hector are concerned, the upcoming Chinese owned British brand SUV will come equipped with two engine options. The first will be a 1.5L turbocharged petrol and the other a 2L Fiat Multijet turbocharged diesel, the latter being the same one found on Compass and Harrier. The outputs for petrol engine will be 143 Bhp-250 Nm whereas the diesel engine is supposed to produce 170 Bhp of power and 350 Nm. MG will also offer a 48V hybrid system as an optional feature with the petrol variants. Also, the petrol variants also get 7-speed Dual Clutch Transmission as an option.
