MG Hector Plus will be a 6-Seater model, expected to be priced Rs 1 lakh higher than Hector SUV.

The automobile industry is now getting back on its feet after a turbulent filled three months due to the nationwide lockdown and restrictions. MG Motor India is now stepping up its operations big time with deliveries of Hector SUV to begin shortly. It’s not just the deliveries of Hector which is making the news, it is the Hector Plus which has recently been spotted at a dealership. MG Hector Plus was showcased at the Auto Expo 2020 and is now arriving at the MG authorized dealerships. The new MG Hector Plus is a 6-Seater SUV that offers a whole lot of space. Production of the SUV has already begun at the automaker’s Halol Plant in Gujarat.

The front fascia has undergone a major overhaul and Hector Plus now sports new LED headlamps, revamped radiator grille and a redesigned bumper. It's profile is similar to the 5-seater Hector with just an increase of 65mm in length. The rear bumper and silver diffuser have been reworked completely to give the vehicle a new-look. Interior remains the same as the 5-seater Hector with just the change in the upholstery colour. The spied MG Hector Plus SUV at the dealership in these images features brown leather seats. If we talk about the cabin, MG Hector PLUS will feature an updated 10.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with OTA update capability.  A panoramic sunroof will come as standard. It is believe that the automaker could add in a colour or two, like the one seen in this image (brown exterior paint job).

Performance-wise, we can expect the Hector Plus to come with the same powertrains that are available with the Hector. These include three engine options, a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol, 1.5-litre petrol with 48V mild-hybrid system and 2.0-litre diesel unit. A 6-speed manual transmission will be carrying out its duty on all three variants while the automatic gearbox will only be made available in the 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol model. The MG Hector Plus will be charged a premium of Rs 1 lakh over its sibling. The Hector Plus when launched early next month, will compete against the likes of  Toyota Innova Crysta and Mahindra XUV 500 in its segment.
