MG Hector Plus gets its first price hike after the launch in the Indian market

MG Motor India launched the Hector Plus in July this year in the price range of Rs 13.49 lakhs - Rs 18.54 lakhs (ex-showroom). The British marquee recently increased the price of it six-seater SUV for the first time by up to Rs 46,000. This price hike is not uniform across all variants. After the increase in price, the SUV is now available in the range of Rs 13.74 lakhs - Rs 18.69 lakhs (ex-showroom). 

MG Hector Plus is the company’s first six-seater offering in the Indian market. It is offered in four trims namely Style, Smart, Super, and Sharp. Talking about the Hector Plus petrol variants, the Style trim gets the highest price hike of Rs 25,000. It is now available at Rs 13.49 lakhs (ex-showroom). While the Smart DCT trim just gets a hike of Rs 5,000. The Sharp Hybrid variant is now offered at Rs 17.29 lakhs (ex-showroom) after a price increase of Rs 10,000. The price of the Hector Plus Sharp DCT is up by Rs 15,000. 

Next, we have the diesel variants of the Hector Plus. The Style trim sees the sharpest rise of Rs 46,000. While the fully-loaded Sharp variant gets a price hike of Rs 15,0000. The mid-spec variants Super and Smart have become dearer by Rs 5000 only.

Cosmetically, MG Hector Plus gets new LED headlamps with DRLs upfront. The revised front grille and bumper differentiates the new SUV from the standard Hector. The rear end boasts of a tail-lamp cluster and a modified bumper. Inside the cabin, the six-seater SUV gets brown leather upholstery. It also comes with a three-row seat configuration while offering captain seat in the middle row. Plus a new addition is the ‘Chit-Chat’ Voice Command feature that comes along with a 10.4-inch iSmart touchscreen infotainment system. This unit is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Andriod Auto. Other feature highlight includes front-parking sensors, powered front seats, a panoramic sunroof, and a hands-free opening function for the tail-gate.

MG Hector Plus comes equipped with turbo petrol, petrol hybrid, and diesel engine options. The petrol variants are powered by a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine mated to a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. The engine delivers 143 bhp power and 250 Nm torque. There is also a 1.5-litre turbo petrol unit featuring a 48V mild-hybrid system while being linked to a 6-speed manual gearbox. Talking about the diesel variant, it draws power from a 2.0-litre engine that generates 170 bhp power and 350 Nm torque. The engine comes linked to a 6-speed manual transmission.
