MG Motor India recently launched its fourth product offering Gloster SUV in the country. The SUV has been launched at an introductory price of Rs 28.98 Lakhs (ex-showroom). The price of the full-sized SUV goes as high as Rs 35.38 Lakhs (ex-showroom) for the range-topping variant. The bookings for the SUV have already commenced.
MG Gloster is available in a total of four grades - Super, Smart, Sharp, and Savvy. The top-end variants Sharp and Savvy get twin-turbocharged diesel engines with 4WD. The Super and Smart trim gets a diesel engine with 2WD. The top-spec Savvy variant comes equipped with segment-unique advanced driver aids while the lower variants miss out on some of the technological features.

In terms of design, the base trim gets auto LED headlamps with DRLs upfront. Other design highlights include 19-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, front & rear fog lamps, auto wipers, electrically adjustable and folding wing mirrors. The trim is offered in a 7-seat configuration. It comes equipped with a host of features. These include a 12.3-inch touchscreen with USB and Bluetooth connectivity, 6-way adjustable driver seat, manual AC with vents in second and third rows, power windows with one-touch operation for driver window, middle row slide/recline function, keyless entry & go, engine stop/start, and driver fatigue monitor. The cabin boasts of black part-leatherette upholstery. As for safety features, the trim gets 7 airbags, ABS, ESP, traction control, hill-start assist and descent control, four-wheel disc brakes, a rearview camera, front and rear parking sensors, and cruise control. Furthermore, the trim gets three drive modes namely Eco, Normal, and Sport.

The Smart trim gets all the features present in the base variant Super. In addition to that, it gets cornering lamps. Inside the cabin, the SUV gets brown leatherette upholstery with diamond stitching. Feature highlights include ambient lighting, sunroof, 12-way adjustable powered driver seat, PM 2.5 filter, tilt and telescopic adjustable steering, all windows one-touch operation, window operation via remote key etc. among others. The 12.3-inch touchscreen is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Furthermore, it also features I-Smart connected car technology with live traffic and weather updates, in-built Gaana app, remote functions, vehicular alerts and voice assistant. This trim is offered in a six-seat configuration.

In addition to the features present in the Gloster Smart, this trim gets on-demand Intelligent four-wheel drive. It features seven drive modes namely Normal, Eco, Sport, Auto, Snow, Mud, and Sand. The design highlights include illuminated front & rear metallic scuff plates and an outside mirror with MG logo projection. As for interiors, the premium SUV gets a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, wireless charging and driver's seat massage & ventilation. Furthermore, it gets an 8-way power-adjustable co-driver seat. Other feature highlights include blind-spot detection, a 360-degree camera, electro-mechanical differential lock, 12-speaker system with subwoofer & amplifier. It also features 64 types of ambient lighting. The Gloster Sharp is the only variant that is offered with both 6- and 7-seat configurations.
