MG Motor India will be launching its flagship SUV, the Gloster, in the first week of October. The company had released a teaser video on its official twitter handle a few days back. The spy images of the SUV have also been leaked online, thereby giving us an idea of what it might look like. Recently, MG Motor released another video of the Gloster on its official Youtube channel. From the video, we can easily make out the SUV's strong water wading capability.

The upcoming MG Gloster is based on the ladder-frame chassis. In terms of design, it will get a bold front look. The SUV will flaunt an octagonal grille with chrome slats upfront. In addition, it will also get LED headlamps with DRLs and a sculpted bumper. The fog lamps will be present with round chrome bezel. At the rear end, it will get LED tail-lights. Riding on dual-tone alloy wheels, the SUV will get chrome around the window line and door handles.

Talking about the interiors, MG Gloster will be loaded with all the bells & whistles. The cabin will be finished in a dual-tone leather upholstery. The upcoming Gloster will get a dashboard layout that will be similar to the other BMW models. It will also feature a floating 12.3-inch touchscreen unit which is likely to be placed above the central AC vents along with manual controls for the climate control system. Other features will include a separate rear differential lock button with Borg Warner Transfer Case, the yacht-style gear selector for an automatic transmission, and a drive mode selector. As for drive modes, the SUV will be offered with four modes namely Rock, Sand, Mud, and Snow. It will also be offered in a seven-seat configuration with the middle row seat as the captain seats.

At the heart, the Gloster SUV will get a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol unit. The engine will be mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox along with 6-speed automatic gearbox. It will further generate 224 bhp power and 360 Nm torque. The SUV will also get a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine. While being linked to an 8-speed automatic gearbox, the engine will churn out 218 bhp power and 480 Nm torque. It will come equipped with an on-demand four-wheel drive. Furthermore, we just have the information that the SUV will get a five-link integral rear suspension.

MG Gloster is expected to fall in the price bracket of Rs 40-45 Lakhs (ex-showroom). Also, it will be assembled at the SAIC Motor Corporation’s Halol plant located in Gujarat.
