MG Astor would also come with industry-first personal AI assistant and first-in-segment Autonomous Level-2 technology

MG Astor is inching closer to its official launch in India. And, with each day passing, the British brand has been sharing bits of information about the upcoming SUV in the Indian market. In the latest, we have been informed that Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will be offered as standard features in all the variants of the Astor. It is already a known fact that MG Astor would come with industry-first personal AI assistant and first-in-segment Autonomous Level-2 technology. For the uninformed, the Astor is the petrol-powered version of the ZS EV which is already on sale in the country.


MG Astor would carry a red-colored dashboard which will house a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity feature. The SUV will also get the JioSaavn app for music/videos. In addition, it will come with maps and navigation powered by MapMyIndia. The brand has not left any stone unturned to make it a roaring success by including features like first-of-its-kind Blockchain-protected vehicle digital passport by KoineArth, industry-first feature of reserving a parking slot through a head unit (powered by Park+ - select cities to begin with) and Car-as-a-Platform (CAAP) services. The CAAP will allow customers to personalize their set of services.


The Autonomous Level-2 technology will comprise of features like Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Departure Prevention, Intelligent Headlamp Control (IHC), Rear Drive Assist (RDA) and Speed Assist System amongst others. Speaking of the personal AI-assistant, it will boast of human-like emotions & voices and can give detailed information on every topic through Wikipedia. The AI assistant will engage with people in the car and is powered by i-Smart Hub. MG Astor exterior features will include new hexagonal front grille and projector headlamps with LED DRLs which will double up as turn indicators. Riding on alloy wheels, it will flaunt a LED tail lamp cluster.
