Mercedes-Benz has launched GLC Coupe in India today and it happens to be their 4th SUV launch in the country this year. The GLC coupe was unveiled precisely a year ago, in March 2019. It will be competing against BMW X4 in the Indian market. The German luxury automaker has been selling the AMG GLC 43, the AMG version of the pre-facelift GLC coupe since 2017 in India. The country will be witnessing the first non-AMG version of GLC and we know a fair bit about the GLC coupe considering it was globally launched in 2019. Considering the GLC SUV facelift was priced at Rs 52.75 Lakhs (ex-showroom, India), GLC coupe facelift is priced at a higher price tag of Rs 62.70 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, India).
Mercedes Benz GLC Coupe exterior highlights include new LED headlamps, new diamond-shaped front grille, new rear diffuser, angular shaped exhaust tips, 19-inch alloy wheels and newly designed LED taillights. Interior wise, it will feature a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with MBUX interface, newly designed multifunction steering wheel, and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster as standard. The GLC Coupe comes equipped with tech features like driving assistance systems such as exit-warning function, emergency-corridor function, and tail-end-of-traffic-jam function, among others. The new Coupe will help the driver in maneuvering in reverse with Trailer Manoeuvring Assist and 360-degree camera with park assist as well.
The SUV comes with five ‘Dynamic Select’ Drive Modes: Eco, Comfort, Individual, Sport, and Sport plus. The GLC coupe is offered in both petrol and diesel fuel trims with BS6 compliant engines. The 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine generates 258 bhp with 370 Nm of peak torque, while the 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel motor delivers 242 bhp and a peak torque of 500 Nm. Both the models will be coming with a 9G-tronic nine-speed automatic gearbox and 4Matic all-wheel-drive system as standard.
