The luxury car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz has rolled out the EQS 580 SUV in the Indian market days after launching the Maybach EQS SUV. The EQS SUV is being offered in the 580 4Matic version at an ex-showroom price of INR 1.41 crore. On the contrary, the recently launched Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV comes at an ex-showroom price of INR 2.25 crore. Mercedes announced that it has received more than 50 bookings for the new Maybach EQS in just one week.
The EQS 580 4Matic SUV is the latest addition to the brand’s electric vehicle lineup. Apart from the new EQS 580, Mercedes retails high-end electric vehicles like EQB, EQA, EQE SUV, Maybach EQS SUV, and EQS sedan. After the EQS sedan, the 580 4Matic is the second car to be locally manufactured at the brand’s Chakan plant.

The standard EQS SUV is being offered in a 7-seater configuration. It comes equipped with the ‘Hyperscreen’ with three screens, including a 17.7-inch central infotainment screen, a 12.3-inch front passenger screen, and a 12.3-inch digital instrument console.
The EQS 580 SUV houses a head-up display followed by augmented reality navigation as an option. The cabin is loaded with advanced features like soft-touch materials, leather upholstered seats, five-zone climate control, a Burmester 3D Surround sound system, nine airbags, soft-close doors, illuminated running boards, puddle lamps, Level 2 ADAS, and more.
Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 Exterior
In terms of design language, the EQS 580 4Matic SUV shares a resemblance with other Mercedes EQ electric models. However, for better aerodynamics, it receives sleek flowing lines. The standard EQS SUV houses amenities like angular LED headlights, a large black panel grille, and a horizontal LED light bar resembling other EQ models. It also receives an AMG line package that houses a range of amenities, including sportier bumpers at both ends.
The Mercedes EQS 580 sports utility vehicle rolls on 21-inch AMG line diamond-cut alloy wheels. It measures 5,125 mm in length, 1,718 mm in height, and 1,959 mm in width. The EQS SUV provides an ARAI-certified range of 809 km on one charge.
Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 Powertrain
Mercedes-Benz is offering the EQS SUV with two electric motors on each axle. It comes equipped with a 118-kWh battery pack that can be charged via a 200kW DC fast charger. The e-motors churn out a combined power output of 544 bhp and peak torque of 858 Nm.
The electric car has a 4Matic AWD system that sends power to all four wheels. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 kph in 4.7 seconds. The new Mercedes-Benz SUV rivals the likes of the BMW iX, the upcoming Kia EV9, and the Audi Q8 e-tron.
