For the first 50 buyers, Mercedes-Benz all-electric EQC SUV is available at Rs 99.30 Lakhs (ex-showroom India, except Kerala)

Mercedes-Benz has launched the all-electric EQC SUV at an introductory price of Rs 99.30 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom India, except Kerala) for the first 50 units. Plus, the first 50 buyers also get 5 years of unlimited kms comprehensive service package. With the arrival of EQC, the EV vertical gets a premium offering in the country. The electric vehicle trend is finally catching up in India with the launch of EQC as other similar models like Porsche Taycan and Audi e-Tron are expected to join the bandwagon soon. It becomes one of the German luxury manufacturer's premium products in India - the first in the electric vehicle segment. The company is also working on a plug-in-hybrid minivan named EQV and a compact electric hatchback namely EQA. This signals a big intent from Mercedes Benz to move towards the EV space. The EQC shares its underpinnings with Mercedes-Benz GLC crossover, which is already on sale in the Indian market. In the first phase, Mercedes-Benz EQC will initially be sold in six cities - Hyderabad, Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai, Pune and Bangalore.

Talking about the design and styling, the front profile stands out, thanks to the piano blank grille surrounded by LED twin headlamps. At the rear, sleek tail-lamps are connected by a light band. The SUV rides on newly-designed alloy wheels with shades of blue. The interior gets a premium treatment with the door pads getting ribbed finish, new fabric upholstery and the air-vents with bronze inserts. There are exciting features like 19-inch alloy wheels, automatic collision avoidance, sunroof, 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and the new-age MBUX touchscreen infotainment system.  The Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) system features a voice-controlled smart-assistant that can be activated by saying "Hey Mercedes". It displays charging information and energy consumption figures while the navigation system suggests routes that include charging stations depending on the remaining charge of the battery as well as simple destination entry.

Talking about performance capabilities, Mercedes Benz EQC is powered by an 80KWH lithium-ion battery. The powerful battery will power twin asynchronous motors, one on each axle. The fully-electric SUV will deliver a massive 408 bhp of maximum power output and 765 Nm of peak torque performance. The EV doesn’t disappoint in acceleration and speed as it goes from 0-100kmph in just 5.1 seconds with top speed electronically restricted to 180kmph. As per the manufacturer, the SUV has a driving range of 400kms on a full charge. The automaker is also offering a battery warranty cover for 8 years. The luxury electric SUV takes 10 hours to get fully charged if one uses the AC wall box charger. It will take just 90 minutes to go from 10-100 per cent with a DC fast charger.
