Mercedes AMG A35 4Matic is the second AMG to be rolled out of the German luxury automaker’s production facility in India.

Mercedes Benz has launched the A-Class Limousine today in the country. The premium sedan is offered in a total of three variants - A 200, A 220d, and A35 AMG. Talking about the price, the A 200 variant is retailed at Rs 39.90 lakhs (ex-showroom) while the A 220d trim is priced at Rs 40.90 lakhs (ex-showroom). The high-performance AMG A35 4Matic gets a price tag of Rs 56.24 lakhs (ex-showroom). The A-Class sedan made its India debut at the Auto Expo last year. It has replaced the CLA in Mercedes Benz India’s product portfolio. The A35 AMG is the second AMG car to be locally assembled at the German luxury carmaker’s manufacturing facility in India. 




The front fascia features a signature diamond-studded grille and triangular headlamps with LED DRLs. On the sides, the premium sedan gets sporty-looking alloy wheels. Towards the rear, it gets split L-shaped LED tail lights and reflector strips in the bumper. The AMG trim looks slightly different from the standard A-Class model. It features a distinct radiator grille upfront. In addition, it also gets a more chiseled bumper and 18-inch AMG spoke wheels. 




Inside the cabin of the new A-Class, we get to see a plethora of changes. The premium sedan comes with two 10.25-inch high-resolution screens, one each for the infotainment system and the instrument cluster. Other features include an AI-based digital assistant,  64-color ambient lighting, connected car tech with Alexa integration, wireless phone charging, powered front seats with memory function, dual-zone climate control, and a large sunroof. The Mercedes-AMG A35 4 Matic is offered in a special Sun Yellow color. Furthermore, it will be available in limited numbers only. The AMG A35 4Matic is offered with a leather embossed super sport steering wheel, a high-end Burmester sound system with 12 speakers, adaptive AMG suspensions, and sports seats with Dinamica upholstery. 




The A-Class Limousine is offered with the choice of three engine options based on the variants you select. The A 200 petrol variant is powered by a 1.3-litre unit that generates a maximum power of 161 bhp and a peak torque of 250 Nm while being mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT). The A 220d variant draws its power from a 2.0-litre turbo diesel that churns out 148 bhp power and 250 Nm peak torque. The engine can be had with an 8-speed DCT automatic gearbox. The top-of-the-line AMG A35 variant gets a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol unit that comes mated to a 7-speed DCT gearbox. The motor dishes out 302 bhp power and 400 Nm peak torque. 




The premium sedan will be offered with an 8-year engine and transmission warranty as standard. Talking about the service package, for the standard A-Class Limousine, it starts from Rs 61,200 for the petrol variant and Rs 73,200 for the diesel trim. The validity of the package is for 2 years. As for the AMG A 35 4Matic trim, the service package starts from Rs 63,600 and comes with a 2 year validity period.
