Maruti XL6 owns nearly 14 percent of the total market share in country’s premium MPV segment

Maruti XL6 is celebrating its first anniversary in the Indian market with sales of over 25,000 units in the first year itself. Being retailed via the NEXA premium chain of dealerships, it has taken Maruti's market share in the MPV segment to 51 percent. The 6-seater vehicle comes with captain seats in the second row for added comfort of occupants. Maruti XL6 owns nearly 14 percent of the total market share in country’s premium MPV segment.

Speaking on the success, Mr. Shashank Srivastava, Executive Director (Marketing & Sales), Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said “Driving the NEXA values of global experience, innovation and excitement, the first-anniversary of XL6 showcases our commitment to bring technologies such as Smart Hybrid, Automatic transmission, Connected SmartPlay Infotainment system, etc. to our customers. There is a significant increase in demand for premium MPVs owing to the ever-evolving customer needs. XL6 stands strong with its feature-rich package of style, space, comfort, performance and safety to offer an unmatched and smooth driving experience.” Being based on Suzuki’s 5th Generation HEARTECT platform, it is powered by a BS6 compliant 1.5L K15 petrol engine.

He added, “Its bold upright stance coupled with sophisticated and ergonomic interiors has helped Maruti Suzuki enjoy a leadership position in the MPV segment with over 50% market share. We are thankful for the immense faith placed in the brand XL6 by our trusted consumers to make it a success.” Maruti XL6 is priced in a range of Rs 9.84-11.51 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Delhi) while it is available in four variants: Zeta, Alpha, Zeta Automatic and Alpha Automatic. The MPV has won several awards in the industry such as ‘Droom Auto Award’ for MPV of the Year and ‘India Digital Award’ for Online Interactive Marketing.
