With the introduction of three new colors, Maruti Wagon R CNG now has total six color options

Maruti Wagon R CNG recently crossed the sales milestone of 3 Lakh units in the Indian market. Therefore, in order to commemorate this feat, the company has introduced three new color schemes for the CNG powered hatchback in the form of Autumn Orange, Nutmeg Brown, and Poolside Blue. Besides these three new colors, the CNG powered Wagon R is presently available in three paint shades namely Solid White, Silky Silver and Magma Grey. Furthermore, the home-grown automaker has announced a slew of benefits for the buyers on the purchase of the hatch.

Maruti Suzuki is offering cash discounts worth Rs 8000 and Rs 13000 on the petrol and CNG version of the Wagon R, respectively. In addition, the customers can avail an exclusive exchange bonus of Rs 15000 on the CNG powered version. The CNG fuel option is available with the entry-level Lxi and Lxi (O) trims of the hatchback. It comes equipped with all the basic features such as power windows, air conditioner and music system. As far as safety features are concerned, the Wagon R comes loaded with dual front airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), front seatbelts with pretensioners and seatbelt reminder system as standard.

Mechanically, the Maruti Wagon R gets the same 1.0L 3-cylinder petrol engine alongside the factory-fitted CNG kit. The power output and torque performance stands at 58bhp and 78Nm, respectively as compared to the petrol version which has 67bhp of top power and 90Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox with power transferred to the front wheels. The fuel tank capacity of Wagon R CNG is 60 litres while it returns a mileage of 33.54 km/kg. The front suspension comprises of MacPherson Strut with Coil Spring while there is Torsion Beam with Coil Spring at the rear. The braking duties are helmed by a disc brake upfront and a drum unit at the rear. The hatch rides on 13-inch wheels.
