Maruti Suzuki launched the Vitara Brezza BS6 on February 24, 2020 in the Indian market. With the BS6 upgrade, the existing diesel variants were phased out and a new petrol engine was introduced for the first time with the sub-compact SUV. Now, we have learnt that Maruti Vitara Brezza BS6 has crossed 25,000 bookings in just over a couple of months time in the country. The Vitara Brezza is placed in the highly competitive sub 4-meter SUV segment with the likes of Hyundai Venue, Ford EcoSport, Tata Nexon and Mahindra XUV300 in India.

Shashank Srivastava, Executive Director - Marketing & Sales, Maruti Suzuki India, in an interaction with carandbike,  said, "We have had 25000 bookings for the Brezza so far and In the short period of time from when the Brezza was launched and the lockdown began, and in that short period of time we have been able to get a very good response for the car. And going forward we are very confident about the Brezza of course." The Vitara Brezza has been a game-changer for Maruti Suzuki right from its launch in 2016 and has constantly featured in the list of top 10 best-selling vehicles in India. With the facelifted model, it gets a new front grille with chrome treatment and redesigned bumper. The company has also added a faux skid plate with even bigger air intakes.

The cabin features a refreshed upholstery with a few premium features such as leather-wrapped steering wheel and an updated 7-inch touchscreen Smartplay Studio 2.0 infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Maruti Suzuki has made dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, seatbelts with pretensioners and load limiters, and ISOFIX child seats as standard safety features across the entire range of the SUV. Under the hood, the Vitara Brezza has the BS6 compliant 1.5L K-Series petrol engine with mild-hybrid SHVS technology. The engine develops a top power of 102bhp at 6000rpm and peak torque of 134Nm at 4400rpm while linked to a 5-speed manual transmission as standard, while a 4-speed torque converter automatic gearbox comes as option.
