India’s biggest car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki, has finally launched the Swift CNG version in the Indian market at a starting price of INR 8.19 lakh (ex-showroom). The new avatar of the Swift hatchback has better fuel efficiency, more torque, and extra trim. Maruti now has more than 14 CNG cars in its lineup. Deliveries for the new Swift CNG version will begin on October 12, 2024.
Bookings for the new Swift hatchback are currently open, and interested buyers can reserve it online or they can also visit their nearest Maruti dealerships. Maruti Suzuki is offering the Swift CNG in three distinct variants: VXi, ZXi, and VXi (O). This is the first time the company is offering the Swift CNG in the ZXi variant.

Maruti Suzuki Swift CNG Features
The Maruti Suzuki Swift CNG receives the same features as the outgoing model. It comes equipped with LED fog lights, LED tail lights, LED projector headlamps, 15-inch alloy wheels, automatic climate control, a nine-inch touchscreen system, OTA updates, and rear AC vents.

Inside, the Swift CNG features amenities like automatic climate control, a 7-inch Smart Play Pro infotainment system, a wireless charger, a height-adjustable driver’s seat, rear AC vents, a Suzuki Connect suite, 60:40 split rear seats, six airbags, hill hold assist, and electronic stability program+ (ESP).
Maruti Suzuki Swift CNG Powertrain
Maruti has also updated the Z12E, 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder NA petrol engine integrated into the Swift hatchback to make it compatible with CNG. The engine now churns out power of 68.79 bhp at 5,700 rpm and 101.8 Nm of peak torque at 2,900 rpm. The CNG variants are mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The Maruti Suzuki Swift CNG hatchback has the highest fuel efficiency of 32.85 km/kg compared to the previous-gen Swift.
After discontinuing the diesel trims, Maruti has been focusing on manufacturing more CNG models. The company is aiming to sell more than six lakh CNG vehicles in the next two years. The Swift CNG is expected to aid the brand in meeting this sales target, as it is one of the most famous cars in the Indian market.
