Today, Maruti Suzuki announced that its Subscribe Plan has now been expanded to 4 more Indian cities which include the names of Mumbai (Navi Mumbai and Thane included), Chennai, Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar. The Indian automaker had launched the service first in Delhi-NCR and Bangalore before extending it to Pune and Hyderabad. Maruti Suzuki has entered into a partnership with ORIX Auto Infrastructure Services India, a subsidiary of ORIX Corporation, Japan to introduce the subscription service for individual customers in India. This is a new business model in post-COVID 19 world where automakers had to bear the brunt of the pandemic. Under this service program, an individual can use a brand-new car without actually owning it. Thus the customer will pay a monthly fee that covers maintenance and insurance for the complete subscription period.
Speaking on the company’s subscription scheme, Shashank Srivastava, Executive Director (Marketing and Sales) Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said, “The Maruti Suzuki Subscribe program has received encouraging response from the customers. We have received over 6,600 enquiries in the first few months of pilot launch. We are delighted to introduce the program in Mumbai, Chennai, Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar. The Maruti Suzuki Subscribe program comes with a bouquet of benefits like flexible tenure, zero down payment, insurance and complete maintenance. The program also provides the customers with peace of mind with 24x7 roadside assistance and customer support. We are aiming to introduce the Maruti Suzuki Subscribe program in 40-60 cities over a period of 2 to 3 years.”
The Indian customers can opt from a number of new cars available at Maruti Suzuki Arena and Nexa dealerships. Arena outlets offer Maruti Swift, Dzire, Vitara Brezza, and Ertiga while the Nexa branches provide the option of Maruti Baleno, Ciaz, and XL6. The leased car would come in white number plate which will be registered in the name of the customer. Once the subscription period ends, the customer can extend the tenure or upgrade to a new model. The user can also purchase the vehicle at the market price.
Below is the example of monthly subscription charges for Maruti Swift LXi for a time period of 48 months.
