Maruti Suzuki S-Presso Launching in September?

Maruti Suzuki has already stated that the production version of the Future S Concept by the company will be called as S-Presso in the Indian market. To let you know, Maruti Suzuki had presented the Future S Concept at the Auto Expo last year amid much hype and fanfare. The all-new car will take on the likes of Renault Kwid, Tata Tiago and the Mahindra KUV100 in the market. Earlier there were reports that the launch of the all-new S-Presso will happen around the festive season this year. However, new reports have emerged on the internet stating that the launch of the small car by the company will take place sooner rather than later and it could be launched as soon as September 2019.

Right after the sub-4 meter compact SUV Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, the upcoming S-Presso from the brand will be the second car that the Indian team of the company has developed all on its own. If one takes small cars into account then the S-Presso will be the very first car that the Suzuki’s team has developed in the country all on its own. The significance of the local team of the brand developing the vehicle all on its own will be that the company will now have to pay lesser royalty on the revenue from the car to the Japanese counterpart.

This could mean that the company will look at passing some of the benefit to the customers, which would mean that the car will be priced a bit more competitively in the Indian market. Based on the Future S Concept from the brand, the upcoming S-Presso will be a unique vehicle on the roads because the Concept in itself was based on a micro-SUV design. Just like the upcoming Tata Hornbill, the S-Presso will encash the SUV trend that has been growing strong in the Indian market. The SUV based design of the vehicle along with the compact dimensions will make it a perfect vehicle for the urban Indian market, where the crowd of the vehicles is growing on the streets by the day. As far as the sales of the upcoming S-Presso are concerned, the brand plans it on selling from its newly revamped Arena dealerships.

The interiors of the micro-SUV from the brand will also be fairly equipped as the brand will focus this car on the youth of India. Expect the S-Presso to come with technology laden interiors with a touchscreen infotainment system making an appearance here as other rivals also offer it. The upcoming S-Presso will be a petrol only car, at least initially, because the maker has already announced its intent about diesel cars in the BS-VI regime. One can expect a 1.2L petrol engine to soldier in the upcoming S-Presso.
