Lets find out the top 5 differences between the new 2020 Maruti Ignis and old 2018 Maruti Ignis.

Maruti Suzuki unveiled the New Ignis on 7th February at the Auto Expo 2020. The reaction was on expected lines with social and electronic media abuzz with excitement regarding the new iteration of micro-SUV. Maruti Ignis in 2018 had been a roaring success and 2020 model is expected to get more traction in the competitive mini-SUV market for Maruti. It has been here for a good three years and the facelifted version has arrived at the best time considering there has been a deluge of launches in the SUV market. Auto Expo 2020 is the right platform for the unveiling and launching new models with the company having worked on the right updates for a facelifted model. 2020 Maruti Ignis facelift flaunts an all-new chrome grille and a revised bumper. The new front fascia gives a tough sporty look for sure, while the side and rear profile remain same as the older one.

We are going to find the 5 key differences between the old and the new Maruti Ignis-

Engine Complaint with new Govt BSVI Norms

Maruti Ignis 2018 was equipped with a BS IV-compliant 1.2-litre K-series engine but the new Ignis 2020 comes with the updated BS VI compliant engine. Power and torque figures remain unchanged while the 5-speed manual and automatic transmission are also retained from the previous model.

Bumper Redesign

The New Ignis 2020 comes with an all-new bumper that is more muscular than the one with 2018 model. Bumpers also get faux scuff plates, adding the much needed ruggedness factor to the vehicle.

Grille Design

The new upper grille in Ignis 2020 is radically different from the existing model. The old Ignis grille features a horizontal chrome slat but the facelifted model comes with a toothed grille giving a different and fresh look.

Changes in the Interior

The New Ignis has a bigger boot at 275 liters, an updated 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity options and a new MID unit

New Colour Options

There are 2 new color options in a single tone- Lucent Orange and Turquoise Blue which are not available with the older Ignis. There are dual-tone color options available for the buyers with three new color options - Nexa Blue with black, Lucent Orange with black, and Nexa Blue with silver.

The biggest takeaway is the introduction of the BSVI engine to the Ignis 2020 model. The bookings for the Ignis are open now at company authorized dealerships.
