The Maruti S-Cross crossover has achieved a big milestone today for the carmaker crossing 1 lakh cumulative sales mark. The flagship vehicle from Maruti is sold through the premium NEXA network. The S-Cross is retailed from more than 329 NEXA sales dealerships across India which covers more than 186 cities.
When launched first in India, the Maruti S-Cross had got quite a hype in the market but eventually it didn't sell well because of its price. However, India's largest carmaker decided to slash the prices of the crossover by almost Rs. 1 lakh. Maruti even returned the extra money to the owners who already bought the S-Cross at higher price.
Recently, Maruti launched the S-Cross facelift with sharp styling elements and new features which made it more desirable amongst the Indian car buyers. They also discontinued the 1.6-litre diesel and now it's only available with the 1.3-litre diesel engine since the facelift launched. Keeping all the aspects in check, the S-Cross has managed to find 16 percent market share in its segment.
