Maruti launched the first generation of Ertiga in 2012 and it was a huge success. And after six years, the carmaker will launch the next-generation of the Ertiga on November 21. The new Ertiga is built on the Heartect platform, it gets many cosmetic enhancements and a new petrol engine.

The Ertiga will be launched with two engine options - a 1.5-litre petrol engine that produces 105 PS of power and 138 Nm of torque and a 1.3-litre turbo diesel engine rated to produce 90 PS of power and 200 Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox but there is an option of 4-speed automatic in the petrol variant.

The new Ertiga is lighter than its predecessor and both the engine comes with an SHVS technology. Due to these very reasons, the vehicle is able to get better fuel economy figures. The ARAI rated the petrol Ertiga to return a fuel efficiency of 19.34 km/l and 18.69 km/l for the manual and automatic variants respectively. Whereas, the diesel variant returns 25.47 km/l.

The booking of the car has been already commenced and customers can book their vehicle at the Maruti Suzuki Arena by paying Rs. 11,000/-. When launched the Ertiga will take on Mahindra Marazzo, Honda BR-V and Renault Lodgy.
