Maruti Baleno

The Maruti Baleno that was launched in 2015 has been one of the most popular hatchbacks on sale in the country. The popularity of the hatchback continues to grow with time. Baleno is surely a complete package with its modern European looks, feature-laden and spacious interior along with a powerful petrol engine. However, the only thing that the car lacks is a sporty character. Even though it looks quite alluring in its stock form, Aswin Saseedharan, a motoring enthusiast from Kerala decided to customize the hatchback and give it a sportier look. The Maruti Baleno that has been customized is the pre-lift Delta petrol variant.

The modified Maruti Suzuki Baleno that was originally Arctic White in color, after customization gets a mixed wrap job of matte black, red, and grey colors towards the rear quarter and '09' written on the front doors. The front fascia gets a new radiator grille that holds a Suzuki badge black in color. The headlamps comprises white lights while the fog lamps get yellow-colored LEDs. The car also gets a yellow LED bar hidden behind the air dam on the front bumper. The ORVMs along with roof and rear spoiler gets a glossy black finish. The ORVMs have been modified to include LED arrow signals on the glass. The tinted windows give the car a sportier look. At the side, it gets 17-inch 9J alloy rims shod with sticky 215/45 tyres. The rear end gets taillamps with a smokey black effect.

The interior of the modified Maruti Baleno boasts of Baleno-branded seat covers and additional padding on the door panels. The cabin also gets configurable ambient lighting, the colors of which can easily be changed from a smartphone through Bluetooth. Further it gets two bigger HID screens in the middle. The Pioneer touchscreen audio system replaces the 2-DIN stock music system. The additional tablet screen, located on the dashboard, displays all the necessary performance data on the go. It also gets a custom speaker system, including a 'Kicker' sub-woofer accompanied by two amplifiers from Hertz and Sony.

Under the skin, the car gets a K12M 1.2-litre petrol engine that produces 84.30 bhp power and 115 Nm torque, in factory tuning. However, in this case the engine has been re-tuned by Pete’s performance. The modification is denoted by Pete's Performance badge on the boot lid.
