Mahindra XUV700 has finally made its world premiere in India. The all-new flagship SUV is expected to go on sale in October in the Indian market. Originally desiged and developed as the next-gen Mahindra XUV 500, it debuts the company's new brand logo while packed with a host of segment-first features. Mahindra XUV700 will be available with both petrol and diesel engines with a choice of manual and automatic transmissions. There will also be a top-of-the-line AWD (4x4) variant in the SUV's line-up for the buyers.




Mahindra XUV700 Variants & Features

Mahindra XUV700 will be offered in two trim lines: MX Series & AdernoX Series. The latter will be available in three variants: AX3, AX5 and AX7. It can be availed in both 5-seater and 7-seater configurations. The SUV flaunts LED headlamps with C-shaped LED daytime running lamps, flush fitting door handles and angular LED taillamps. The standard features on the MX Series will include 7-inch digital instrument cluster, Steering mounted controls, 17-inch steel wheels and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto. On the other hand, Mahindra XUV700 AX Series will come loaded with dual HD 10.25-inch screens for digital instrument cluster and touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as standard.



Some of the other notable features on the entire AX series will include Amazon Alexa built-in, AdernoX Connect with 60+ connected features, 6-speakers and sound staging. The range-topping AX7 variant will get Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), Panoramic Skyroof, Smart Clean Zone, Dual Zone Climate Control, 18-inch Diamond Cut Alloy Wheels, 6-Way Power Seat with Memory etc, to name a few. The company will announce optional packs at a later stage which will comprise of several features like 3D Sound by Sony, 360 Surround View, Blind View Monitoring, Electronic Park Brake and Wireless Charging.


Mahindra XUV700 Safety Features

ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) will be the key highlight of Mahindra XUV700. The ADAS will include Forward Collision Warning, Autonomous Emergency Brakes Using both camera and radar, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keep Assist, Adaptive cruise Control, Smart Pilot Assist, Traffic Sign Recognition and High Beam Assist. In addition, the SUV will feature Driver Drowsiness Detection, Auto Booster Headlamp, Personalised Safety Alert, 7 airbags and Driver seat-belt lap pre-tensioner in addition to standard seat-belt retractor pre-tensioner for driver and co-driver. Anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brake distribution (EBD) is also standard.




Mahindra XUV700 Engine & Transmission

The SUV will be offered in both petrol and diesel fuel trims. The former will have a 2.0L Turbo GDi mStallion engine under the hood which will belt out 197 bhp at 5000 rpm and 380 Nm between 1750-3000 rpm. It will be linked to a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearbox as standard. The diesel variants will draw power from the tried and trusted 2.2L Commonrail Turbo mHawk Engine which will generate maximum power and peak torque in two tunes: 182 bhp & 420 Nm (manual)/450 Nm (Automatic) and 152 bhp and 360 Nm (Manual). Identical to the petrol variants, the diesel variants will also be available with 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission choices. The top-end variants in diesel trim will also get four drive modes namely Zip, Zap, Zoom & Custom.




Mahindra XUV700 Price & Competition

Mahindra XUV700 is expected to be launched in a price range of Rs 18-25 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom) to rival the likes of Hyundai Alcazar, MG Hector Plus and Tata Safari in the Indian market.
