  • Mahindra XUV300 Sportz was initially scheduled to launch in April 2020

Mahindra & Mahindra had showcased the XUV300 Sportz at the 2020 Auto Expo and it was rumoured to launch soon after in the Indian market. But, contrary to the reports, it has not been launched yet due to the nationwide lockdown imposed because of COVID-19 in the country. Now, it has been learnt that Mahindra XUV300 Sportz launch has been pushed back to 2021 as the company intends to focus on the new Thar and BS6 compliant TUV300. The Sportz variant would sit at the top-of-the-range of Mahindra XUV300 variant line-up in India.

As for Mahindra XUV300 Sportz, it comes with an all-black upholstery with red inserts on the dashboard. The seats will also have red contrast stitching. The equipment level will be similar to the range-topping variant in the SUV's lineup. Insiders have reported that Mahindra XUV300 Sportz will be the most feature loaded product in its segment with a plethora of class-leading bells and whistles. Needless to say, it is one of the safest made-in-India SUVs and it has been verified by the Global NCAP too. Mahindra XUV300 Sportz price is expected to be in excess of Rs 10 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom) and it might end up as the most premium and expensive offering in the sub 4-meter SUV segment.

The biggest USP of Mahindra XUV300 Sportz will be the new BS6 compliant 1.2L turbocharged GDI petrol engine which generates maximum power output of 130bhp and peak torque performance of 230Nm. The power output and torque performance figures are 20bhp and 30Nm, respectively, higher than the standard variants. The engine is linked to a 6-speed manual transmission as standard while an AMT gearbox is said to be introduced at a later stage. The launch is likely to happen in the second quarter of 2021 while it will rival the likes of Hyundai Venue turbo and Kia Sonet turbo in the Indian market. Stay tuned to this page for more updates on the same!
