Mahindra XUV300 receives Safe Choice Award from Global NCAP.

Mahindra XUV300 has won the first-ever Safe Choice Award at the Global NCAP (New Car Assessment Programme) crash test. It is the first Indian car to earn 5 stars for adult occupant protection and 4 stars for child occupant protection. Competing against the likes of Maruti Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Ford Ecosport, and Tata Nexon, this compact-SUV is priced in the range of Rs 8.10 lakhs to Rs. 12.69 lakhs (ex-showroom) India.

The compact-SUV offers a host of advanced safety features. These include dual-front airbags, ABS with EBD, all four disc brakes, ISOFIX and corner braking control. It comes with a collapsible steering and side intrusion beam along with a speed sensing door lock. Some other highlighted features include driver and co-passenger seat belt reminder, impact sensing door unlock along with a high mounted stop lamp and panic braking signal.

The adult occupant protection in Mahindra XUV300 is amazing as it provides both the head and neck protection for its occupants. Apart from this, it also provides femur and knee protection along with chest protection. The global NCAP tested the side impact protection of XUV300 under UN95 regulation for which the SUV scored a 5 star rating.

The child occupant protection in Mahindra XUV300 is another important feature for which it scored a 4 star. The Global NCAP performed the test with the help of an 18-month old dummy with CRS installed facing rearward with the help of the standard ISOFIX anchorages and a support leg. One could also find a 3-year old CRS installed facing in the forward direction with the help of ISOFIX anchorages thus providing fair protection to the dummy.

Besides the Mahindra XUV300, the other TATA models to bag a 5-star adult occupant protection rating in the Global NCAP crash test are Tata Nexon and Tata Altroz.
