Mahindra has unveiled a more rugged version of the standard made-in-India Scorpio N SUV in South Africa. The new model is named the Scorpio N Adventure Edition, and it is available at a price of 644,499 Rand (around Rs. 29.29 lakh). The Adventure Edition is now part of the top-spec Scorpio N range in South Africa. The new version of the made-in-India SUV comes with a range of upgrades incorporating new alloy wheels, bumpers, tyres, and more.

The SUV unveiled in South Africa is identical to the model manufactured in India. The made-in-India Scorpio N is retailed with a diesel powertrain. Powering the Scorpio N Adventure Edition is the same 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine. The unit generates power of 172 bhp and a peak torque of 400 Nm. It is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission, which sends power to all four wheels.

The Mahindra Scorpio N Adventure Edition is inspired by the top-spec Z8 four-wheel drive trim. The SUV comes with new, sturdy-looking bumpers at the rear and front. The smaller bumpers are made up of metal and mounted higher up. The front bumper has integrated fog lights, recovery hooks, auxiliary lights, a tow bar, high lift jacking points, and a winch.

The Scorpio N Adventure Edition rolls on 18-inch alloy wheels shod with wider-profile all-terrain tyres. Mahindra has added extra cladding to the wheel arches to support the wider-spec tyres on the SUV. Retail sales of the Scorpio N Adventure Edition are handled by Mahindra South Africa.

As standard, the new Scorpio N features four-wheel drive. Additionally, the SUV has six terrain modes: Grass, Normal, Gravel, Mud, Snow, and Sand. The Adventure Edition also features an electronic brake-locking differential, hill descent control, mechanical rear-locking differential, and hill hold control.
