We help you to choose the perfect vehicle for you
Mahindra launched the eKUV100 at Auto Expo 2020 on the 5th of February and made the world take notice of its growing stable of cars in the electric vehicle segment. In design, the eKUV100 is quite identical to the petrol variant but with subtle changes in the front fascia, rear, and alloys. It was one of the most anticipated electric vehicles launches this year and it will be fascinating to see how other EV manufacturers react to the launch. We expect Mahindra eKUV100 electric to get good traction among the Indian consumer who is interested in purchasing an electric vehicle which is good in features and priced below Rs 10 lakhs.
The Price of Mahindra eKUV is Rs 8.25 Lakhs ( ex-showroom, Delhi) as bookings are said to open in March 2020. We can expect the deliveries of the EV (electric vehicle) to commence in April.
We will observe a revised grille, reworked headlamps and taillights. The interior remains similar to the KUV100 but we see a larger infotainment system that comes compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. There is also a digital instrument console that can be found inside the cabin. Mahindra has added blue accents to its vehicle up front and have a multifunction steering wheel. There will be a connected car technology that can be accessed with a smartphone application. Mahindra eKUV100 will enable remote diagnostics, remote door lock/unlock, location tracking and provide real-time updates on battery status. The charging port can be found placed just above the front fender on the right-hand side with a Mahindra Electric sticker on it.
Mahindra eKUV100 power comes from a 40 kW electric motor generating maximum power output of 53 bhp and 120 Nm of peak torque. A single-speed transmission is the source powering its front wheels. The electric vehicle is equipped with a 15.9 kWh lithium-ion battery and you can travel around 120 km on a single charge. Mahindra is offering both standard - a fast-charger and a wall mounted socket for charging the vehicle. As a result with the help of a fast charger this machine can be charged from 0-80 percent in just 1 hour claims the Indian automaker.
With the price being Rs 8.25 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the new Mahindra eKUV100 is, without doubt, India's most affordable electric vehicle currently in India. As of now it competes directly with Tata Nexon EV in the electric four wheeler segment.
