It is a milestone in our BS6 transition journey. Despite tight timelines, we, along with our suppliers, have met the challenging requirements of these tighter emission norms, much ahead of the stipulated timeline. We will progressively upgrade our entire range with cleaner emissions technology.”

The BSVI compliant variant will use 1.2-litre turbo-petrol unit that will churn out 110hp and torque of 190Nm as compared to the 200Nm produced by the BSIV variant. Early this year, the company has revealed the details of its BSVI compliant range of petrol and diesel engines. In the Maruti Suzuki line up the Vitara Brezza is only car available in diesel variant but the company will drop the diesel engine next year.

You can expect Mahindra to launch more of its BS6 compliant variants in coming few months as the deadline for the BSVI norms is nearing.
