Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) has announced the appointment of Anish Shah as MD & CEO of the company, effective from April 2, 2021. Presently, Shah serves as the Deputy Managing Director and Group Chief Financial Officer. He has been appointed the MD & CEO for a duration of next five years. Manoj Bhat will be filling in the shoes of Anish as the Group Chief Financial Officer with effect from 2nd April 2021. Bhat is currently working as the Chief Financial Officer of Tech Mahindra Limited.

Anish would be replacing Dr. Pawan Kumar Goenka as the MD & CEO of Mahindra & Mahindra while also joining M&M’s board of directors. It is also learnt that Mahindra Chairman - Anand Mahindra will step down from his Executive role from April 2021. Speaking on Manoj Bhat's appointment as Group CFO, Anish Shah said, “Manoj is a proven global CFO with a track record of delivering results and creating value. He brings a compelling blend of strategic and capital allocation discipline, well-honed operating skills, and transformational leadership abilities. He will be a strong partner as we execute our transformational plan and improve our operating results to position Mahindra for sustainable, long-term value creation.”

"Accordingly, Anish Shah would cease to be Group Chief Financial Officer upon assuming the role of Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the company with effect from 2nd April 2021," an official statement from the company read.
