Mahindra has launched their flagship vehicle, the Alturas G4 in India.

Indian SUV giant, Mahindra has finally launched the Alturas G4 in India. The Alturas G4 is the company’s flagship vehicle and it is available in India via CKD route. The SUV has a great road presence due to its size and feature loaded cabin.

The Alturas G4 has a bold design and Mahindra logo sits proudly at the front. The massive wheel arches give the vehicle a wider look and the SUV sits on 18-inch wheels. The Alturas G4 badging is at the centre of the tailgate and is chrome treated. The side looks a bit distinctive as it misses the rear quarter glass.

The car comes with powered and ventilated front seats and seats are wrapped with black and tan Nappa leather upholstery. It features MID in the instrument cluster, 6-speaker touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. The boot capacity is extremely less when all the rows are up and another additional feature of the top end trim is that it comes with handsfree boot opening.

The Alturas G4 top trim is loaded with safety features like 9 airbags, ABS, ESP, ARP (Anti Rollover Protection), HDC (Hill Descent Control), HSA (Hill Start Assist), BAS (Brake Assist System) and ESS (Emergency Stop Signal). The base spec Alturas G4 gets dual front airbags while other safety features are present in the car.

Powering the Alturas is a 2.2-litre diesel unit that churns out 180.5 BHP and 450 Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission that has been sourced from Mercedes. The Alturas G4 2WD variant is priced at Rs. 26.95 lakhs while the 4WD variant is available at Rs. 29.95 lakhs (both prices, ex-showroom). The car takes on the likes of Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour and Isuzu MU-X.
