Come 2019, Lincoln will produce 80 Continental 80th Anniversary Coach Door Edition cars which bring back the rear 'suicide door' or as Lincoln likes to call them 'Coach Door' on the Continental. The last time these were seen on a Continental was way back in 1969. Lincoln would manufacture limited number of these special edition cars for 2020 as well however the exact numbers haven't been revealed as of now.
The 'Coach Doors' on the car facilitate ingress and egress for the occupants as they open 90° wide. The car is also equipped with an electronic door system that makes entry and exit an effortless and quiet task. Lincoln has added 1524 mm to the wheelbase of the car which now provides best-in-class legroom for the two rear individual seats.
The rear seats have a stowable tray with a tablet holder, a wireless charging pad, touchscreen based audio and climate controls among several other experience enhancing features. Your Sunday driving sessions would also be nothing short of surreal with inclusion of features such as a 30-way adjustable driver's seat, heads-up display, Active Noise Control, Revel Ultima Audio System and a lot more.
The new Lincoln Continental 80th Anniversary Coach Door Edition is powered by a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 engine mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. The engine is good enough for 400 HP of peak power and 542 Nm of peak torque. There are three driving modes on offer that alter various parameters to cater to the driver's need; Normal, Sport and Comfort.
Deliveries for the new Lincoln Continental 80th Anniversary Coach Door Edition are slated to begin next summer however Lincoln hasn't revealed prices for the car. Buyers will also get access to Lincoln's Black Label services which include annual vehicle detailing, anytime car washes and culinary experiences at several restaurants.
