Land Rover Discovery Sport 2020 launched at Rs 57.06 Lakh with new features and design updates.

Land Rover Discovery Sport 2020 has been launched in India on 13 February 2020 and speaks volumes about Tata Motors’ ambition considering they just introduced Range Rover Evoque in January 2020. Land Rover Discovery Sport is one of the most popular SUVs in the market and the second generation diesel model price ranges from Rs 57.06 lakhs (ex-showroom) for base Sport S trim and Rs 60.89 lakhs (ex-showroom) for R-Dynamic SE. During the launch, the company also stated that it would be introducing petrol variants of the Discovery Sport at a later date though prices for these versions stand at Rs 75.60 lakhs (ex-showroom) - Rs 88 lakhs (ex-showroom) for the top-end model. Discovery Sport facelift bodywork is the new Premium Transverse Architecture (PTA) common with the Range Rover Evoque. Second Generation Discovery Sport 2020 will compete against the likes of BMW X3, Audi Q5, and Volvo XC60 in the Indian market.

The 2020 Discovery Sport is 7mm shorter in length and 3mm taller than the outgoing model. With the revamped design, the Discovery Sport sports a more premium look with redesigned headlamps, LED Daytime Running Lights, taillights and reworked bumpers. It comes equipped with a digital instrument cluster and a 10-inch Touch Pro infotainment system with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There are exciting changes like a new steering wheel design, 4G Wifi Hotspot, wireless charging and USB ports. Reworked front and rear bumpers lend a muscular look to the SUV. The seating configuration is 5+2 for its occupants. The vehicle carries forward old style design with blackened pillars, a rakish windshield, and a fresh set of alloy wheels.

Land Rover Discovery Sport facelift comes fitted with BS6 compliant petrol and diesel engines. The petrol Ingenium series engine will generate a maximum power output of 248 bhp and 430Nm while the diesel engine delivers 180 bhp and 430Nm. Nine-speed automatic transmission is available in Discovery Sport.

The new Discovery Sport will come with tech features for driver assistance such as  JLR’s ClearSight camera, a ClearSight GroundView camera, and adaptive cruise control.
