Jaguar Land Rover India has started the deliveries of Defender 90 (3-door version) in the country. Being the most capable Land Rover ever made, it is launched at a starting price of Rs 76.57 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, India). Land Rover Defender 90 comes in a 6-seater configuration with front central jump seat. The SUV is on offer in several models including Defender, X-Dynamic and Defender X. Furthermore, Defender and X-Dynamic will come with S, SE and HSE Specification Packs. The Defender 90 doesn't have any direct rival in India.
Land Rover Defender 90 boasts of a Pivi touchscreen infotainment system with an intuitive interface and its own back-up battery for always-on responses. It also comes with an advanced software-over-the-air (OTA) updates function so that customers benefit from the latest software at all times, wherever they are in the world. The British luxury brand has also equipped the SUV with a Configurable Terrain Response 2 system with a new Wade programme. It will allow the driver to set the precise off-road conditions while driving through water has also become easier. Land Rover Defender 90 is offered with four accessory packs namely Explorer, Adventure, Country and Urban Packs.
Mechanically, Land Rover Defender 90 is available with three engine choices. There is a 2.0L 4-cylinder petrol engine which develops top power of 296 bhp and peak torque of 400 Nm. The SUV also comes powered by a 3.0L 6-cylinder petrol engine which dishes out maximum power of 394 bhp and highest torque of 550 Nm. The diesel variants have a sole 3.0L 6-cylinder engine which returns 296 bhp and 650 Nm.
